About Me

Tom Smythe

Tom Smythe

I grew up on a small farm near a small Wisconsin town. After graduating high school, I left the farm, and served in the military both in the Air Force as a crew chief of C-5 & C-141 cargo planes, and later as an Ordinance officer in the Iowa Army National Guard. My college years began at University of Wisconsin, Platteville and ended at University of Dubuque, Iowa. After college, I helped get a business start up off the ground managing computer hardware & operating systems for the software used by folks in the HVAC industry. After that, Motorola needed system administrators for a short while and subsequently I was offered a position at IBM where I work today.

With the advent of work-at-home (WAH) at IBM, our family opted to sell the sticks-n-bricks house and try the RV lifestyle. Today, you can find us most easily by clicking on this link and looking for our dish number – 5932 – or “Tom Smythe” in the list of users beneath the map. If you happen to be in/near the campground, just look for our rig!
